Growth Programme

Glasgow City Council’s has created an innovative programme of support for businesses in the City. Business can access a range of specialist support through a tiered Business Voucher programme which pays 100% of the cost of specialist support for up to 15 days.

The application process is on-line and is straightforward to complete and submit.

There are ten areas of support including business structuring; business growth; leadership, skills and resources; financial management; design thinking; innovation; Internationalisation; digital development and innovation and business resilience.

Organisational Development

  • Support you, as leader of your business, to review any changes you might need to make to your management structure and roles and responsibilities to deliver your post Covid-19 recovery plan
  • Work with you and your top team to identify the culture you want in your business to drive delivery of your post Covid-19 recovery plan , review perceptions of the existing culture and make recommendations for changes to practices to support the transition of the culture

  • Work with you and your teams to identify the behaviours you want to see your managers demonstrate and develop behavioural competencies so that everyone is clear about the behavioural standards that are expected of them
  • Design and deliver bespoke leadership development programmes for leaders at all levels in your business

Succession Planning

  • Explore the challenges you face around succession planning and through coaching, support you to plan for future succession and effective management of the business
  • Provide one to one coaching to build leadership capability for those identified as key future leaders

Capacity Building

  • Work with you and your top team to identify potential career paths in your business to help you retain talent by demonstrating career development opportunities
  • Identify the skills people need to develop to progress their career in your business e.g. operator to team leader / team leader to manager
  • Work with you and your top team to identify processes you can put in place to support career development for key talent

HR Support

  • Review current recruitment practices and make recommendations for improvement
  • Review current induction practices and prepare a report on their future suitability or make recommendations for changes
  • Develop job specifications for existing and new jobs to enable clarity of roles and responsibilities of managers and team members
